John B. Benton, Jr., D.D.S. – Orthodontic Specialist in Anniston, Alabama
Dr. John Benton has been residing and practicing orthodontics in Calhoun county since 1985.    He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Louisiana State University,and continued at LSU’s School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree and Certificate in Orthodontics.  Dr. Benton was the first orthodontist in our area to achieve  Board Certification status by the American Board of Orthodontics.  Dr. Benton maintains memberships with such professional organizations as the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists and is one of the Founding members of  the Deep South Damon Study Club.  Dr. Benton was the first orthodontist  to introduce the Damon brace system to our area, and he has successfully treated well over 2000 patients utilizing the Damon system!

He and his wife, Judy, have been married for 30 years and live in Jacksonville, Alabama.  They have a son,Barry, who is a dental student at UAB School of Dentistry and a daughter, CJ, who is in the nursing school at  Samford University.  During his leisure time,  Dr. Benton enjoys fishing around the world in such places as Alaska, Russia, the Amazon River, Mexico, the Bahamas, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Argentina, and in lakes throughout Alabama.  He and his family are active members of First United Methodist Church of Jacksonville.
